The wedding gift tax has been brought in to India, and it’s a big threat to the weddings of the Indian diaspora.

The Indian government, which has been in charge of the country’s finances since independence, is now looking to clamp down on the practice.

This week, it announced the introduction of a new tax to collect tax from businesses selling wedding gift items.

“We are trying to make sure that wedding gift taxes are brought in in India,” Finance Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told NDTV on Wednesday.

In the US, a similar tax is being considered to curb the use of wedding gift gifts by the wealthy and celebrities.
